I just found out today that the wife of a guy I work with is a published romance writer!  I had no clue!   It looks like she does paranormal stuff and also has a couple stories in erotic anthologies.  I've never read any of it (although judging from reviews here of her first book, I'm not sure I'll like her) but she has a new book coming out next month called "Hotter After Midnight".  Her pen name is Cynthia Eden.  Just had to share, because it was really neat to find out.  It was one of those "it's a small world moments".  I was talking to another lady who works here and she said "oh yea, I tried to read one of her books but it just wasn't my thing".  Then she kinda whispered to me that it was about vampires (*gasp*) and looked weirded out.  I just had to LOL at that!

Hmmm... I think it might be a little wierd to look my co-worker in the eye the morning after reading a sex scene his wife wrote.  I definitely don't think I could discuss it with him!

Lol - I was thinking the same thing.  Like, is he a dynamo?  Do they do that at home?:P

LOL!  He actually works from home most of the time and I only see him one day a week, so no biggie.  We're not great friends or anything so I doubt I would get into any kind of detailed conversation about the book's subject matter.  You're right - that could be awkward!

Oh, I love Cynthia Eden!! How exciting!

ETA:  If she wrote romantic suspense, would you think she had murdered someone? It's fiction!

Sure it's fiction, but would you write a 3 page scene about shooting someone without ever having fired a gun?  You have to do some research!

LOL!  Good point!  Virgins don't write those scenes:P  If the H&H are doing it on the washing machine during the spin cycle, chances are, somebody did some *cough* research.

Amy - he works at home, eh?  I'll bet..:P

Lol...and he's our computer/web guy so if he's monitoring internet usage, I'm in trouble.  Be nice, ladies!

That is so cool.  I actually meet some authors and get all blubbery like they're movie stars.  We put these people on pedestals, lol.   The co-worker who gasped over the content of the book would make me laugh.  I'd probably say something back to her like, "ummm, so what's your point? I find sex and vampires to be a rather normal occurence in my reading."

I've liked a couple of her shorts I read in the Secrets Volume books (some of those you like, some not), so I'm looking forward to reading her books coming out now.
