Ok, you're going to see how bad my memory is b/c this is going to sound *really* vague, but its worth a shot.

A couple (2 or 3?) years ago I read a mystery/thriller. The book wasn't classified as gay/lesbian, it was just in the usual mystery section. I think it was the author's first book - at least, as far as I could find, I enjoyed this one such much, that I tried to find more by the author, but couldn't. One of the main characters was a cop or federal agent. She was working on a serial killer case. She was partnered. Pretty early in the book was a hot love scene between the two of them. Hmmm, I guess that's all that I remember. Bummer. You can see what stood out in my mind, eh? lol I would love to find out who the author was and see if he/she has written anything else.

Gosh, I know this is really vague. Any ideas?

I don't know the book, but it sounds interesting.  Have you scanned through the "LGBTQ Books and series lists" thread to see if anything looks familiar?

Could it be A Grave Talent by Laurie R. King? This is the first book in King's Kate Martinelli series, which I found quite enjoyable.

You might also check out Everything You Have is Mine by Sandra Scoppettone. Lauren Laurano is a PI in San Francisco working on a murder case. Actually now that I think about it, both of the main characters have therapists as partners.

It's not A Grave Talent.  No sex scenes to speak of in that one.  But Grave Talent is a good book.

Thanks for the input! It took me a while to check out all these possibilities... and of course I found several books I just *have* to have. *eye roll* lol Unfortunately, none were the one I was looking for. Ahhhh, my quest continues!

I have such a sucky memory.

Bobbi, I'll look through the list - thanks!

If the partner was a psychologist, it was probably Radclyffe.  Her books have terrific love scenes.  Check out the Justice series, starting with A Matter of Trust.  Very well plotted, great characters, etc,.  Rad's a not so well hidden treasure.  She retired from being a physician just a couple of years ago to devote her life to writing full time and has a bunch of books published already. Give her a shot, you won't regret it.
