I love wolves and love books about wolves.  They could be stories about wolves, or children's books with pictures of wolves, or history type books on wolves anything that has to do with wolves.  If anyone has any on there shelf please let me know.

Thanks

Shelly

"The Sight" by David Clement-Davis was pretty good if you haven't read it. I can't give up my copy (it's on my keeper list)  but it looks like there are a few on here available from other members. :)

I searched for the book The Sight and read about it and fell in love with it.  Thank you so much for recomending it to me.  It is on my reminder list until I can get some more credits..lol.  Thank you again I've even put the 2nd one on the wish list.

Hi Mary,
I have 2 books in my collection that I absolutely love.  One is Called THE LOOP by Nicholas Evans and the other is NEVER CRY WOLF by Farley Mowat.  You should see if there are any in the system - I highly recommend them both!!!

The only wolf book I have posted right now is HOWL A BOOK ABOUT WOLVES for children though.  Good luck finding what you're looking for and happy reading, Becky

Glad to help, hope you enjoy the books.

The only other wolf-related book I can think of would be Jack London's "White Fang" although I found it (and his more famous book "The Call of the Wild") to be a quite brutal and savage in parts...as an animal lover I found them both tough going at times although both are still very good books. :)

Hi Mary,

I recently posted a book I received from PBS:

The Good Dog :: Avi, Ken McMillan
ISBN-13: 9780689838255 - ISBN-10: 0689838255
Posted: 1/20/2010 1:55 PM ET passport.png

For ages 9-12  (I found it an interesting read even though it's a children's book.)

When the Wild Calls

McKinley, a malamute, is a good dog -- he's reliable and trustworthy. Whether it's watching over the other dogs of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, or taking care of his human pup, Jack, McKinley never even thinks of letting anyone down -- until he meets Lupin. Lupin is a she-wolf and she's urging the dogs of Steamboat Springs to leave their domesticated lives and join her wild pack. And though she scares McKinley, he also finds himself drawn to her and the life of freedom that she offers.

For the first time, McKinley's loyalties are torn. Should he stay with his humans and continue to lead the dogs of Steamboat Springs? Or should he join the wolf and live freely, like his ancestors did? When the wild calls, what will McKinley's answer be?

Thank you Ann Marie for helping me find books, but that is not exactly what I'm looking for, but it does sound like a very cute book.

No problem.  I looked through my bookshelf again and came across 2 other books.

Julie's Wolf Pack :: Jean Craighead George
ISBN-13: 9780590635349 - ISBN-10: 0590635344
Posted: 12/2/2009 2:26 PM ET passport.png        This the second of two books, the first being Julie of the Wolves.

The other is "The Loop"  which Becky mentioned to you above.

Another book you might want to search for is:  Anaku, the true story of a wolf.  by Joanne E. De Jonge

This is the real story of Anaku, one of the members of the wolf family that was translocated from Minnesota to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 1974.  Interesting  glimpses of wolf pack life are interwoven with absorbing accounts of tahe antics  of the inquisitive Anaku by a keen observer of God's world.  The theme is wildlife preservation .   Nature lovers of all ages wil enjoy this story.

I have two books about wolves.  One is "Yellowstone Wolves" which I just put my bookshelf.  I show there are 4 people looking for it, so if you want it, please hurry.  (It's an autographed copy.)  The other is "Wolf - Spirit of the Wild" and is a coffee table book.  It's heavy (about 3-1/4 pounds) so it may take more postage than usual to send.  I can't seem to find an ISBN on it, but it was published by The Nature Company if you want to do a search for it.  Feel free to send me a private message if you're interested.
