I'm on book 4 and I love this series. Can you recommend anything similar (doesn't have to be end-times, just similar style)?

I really enjoyed that series, too.  I read them as they were first published and I think they helped me really get interested in reading Christian fiction or fiction by Christian writers.

Some other books/series that I've enjoyed are One Tuesday Morning and Beyond Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury, the Newpointe 911 Series by Terri Blackstock, The Justice by Angela Hunt, and the O'Malley Series by Dee Henderson.

The Circle of Seven is good Christian fiction. Can't really think of any others off the top of my head though...

I have always enjoyed books writen by Randy Alcorn.  He is something like a cross between Left Behind and John Grisham.  There is Eternity, and then the two Dominion and Deadline. I always like to recommend all christians read his book, Safely Home, it is different than the others but really good.  Then there are the Frank Peretti books which really look at the unseen forces of evil that we must fight against as christians.  Right now I am just about  finished reading the fourth book of Babylon Rising.  I call it the pre-quel to the pre-quel to the Left Behind series. The others are called, The Secret on Ararat, The Europa conspiracy and The Edge of Darkness.  It was so good toward the end I had to go buy the last book new. Tim Lahaye wrote these with Bob Phillips.  Then there are The Rising, The Regime and The Rapture  writen by the same guys as Left Behind.  Jerry Jenkins has also writin a series mentioned already, Soon, Silenced and Shadowed. And for anyone else interested they have a military series and a political series writen by other authors.  I love reading these books.

Good Luck and Good Reading, Melita

they have a web site:  Leftbehind.com

PS. John Grisham also has a book called The Testament which is good.  The book by Randy Alcorn is called The Edge of Eternity, and Safely Home is about a business man who goes to China and sees how things really are for the underground churches there.  These are all books that put the person who does not believe in God to take a closer look.   Melita

Melita--Thanks for mentioning Randy Alcorn.  I haven't read any books by him, yet, but have Deadline in my TBR pile.

I wanted to chime in with Melita... she answered with many of the suggestions I was going to make, including Frank Peretti (start with This Present Darkness) and the Left Behind prequels.  Plus, I wanted to thank her for the Randy Alcorn suggestion... am going to check out his books for myself. :)

I would recommend trying Alton Gansky.  I just finished reading his Perry Sachs series (A Treasure Deep, Beneath The Ice, Submerged)  and they were great.  I have also read a couple of his stand alone books that were really good.  His books are pretty fast paced and have twists and turns that I never see coming!!

Christine--Thanks for your comments on Alton Gansky.  I have 2 of his books in my TBR pile--Distant Memory and Through My Eyes.  Now I am anxious to start reading one of them!

Distant Memory was a very good book.  I haven't read Through My Eyes so I'll have to be on the lookout for that one.   Another great author that I just thought of is Karen Ball.  I have read the first 2 books in her Family Honor Series and they were great.  The books are a mixture of suspense and family relationships.  I just got the 3rd book in the series yesterday and hope to start reading it soon.

In His Image (Book One of The Christ Clone Trilogy) by James BeauSeigneur

This is a great trilogy.  I liked it more than Left Behind.

Christine--I haven't read any books by Karen Ball, but the Family Honor Series you mentioned sounds like ones I would enjoy.  I like a bit of mystery and suspense in books.
