I was curious...

There's a book I'm waiting for, and I happened to click on the details.  The details show that the book was mailed on 3/27.  But...it also has two label printing dates of 4/4.  How is this possible?  It makes me think the person marked it mailed on the 27th but never actually printed a label until the 4th.  I didn't know the system would allow you to do this.  It's not a great big deal, who knows what might have come up...I'm just curious....

Looking at my "books I've mailed" tab, there is a reprint label option there so it looks like it is possible.

The other person, yes, could have marked it mailed and not actually mailed it.  They could have been double checking the address or transaction details too.  Whenever you hit that reprint label option, the system times it for you.

When the book arrives, check the postmark, that'll tell you when it was mailed.  The system should flag them as a late mailer if you fill out the survey and choose the postmark date 8 days past the date the person clicked "this book has been mailed".

Very easily. It could be that the person clicked on 'print label' after the book was mailed. I did that once, when a book I mailed seemed to be taking a long time to arrive and I wanted to see the address again. Of course, then I saw what I'd done -- the details showed that printing date instead of the first one. Luckily the book finally showed up and the postmark showed that I'd mailed it on time.

y2pk - I hope that's the story for me, too.  I sent out a box of 5 books (not a "box o' books") that were ordered from me.  that order was a pain for me from the start!  Finding a box that was not too big and not too small was a pain (that'll teach me to throw the small Amazon boxes away!).  Then my printer went down and a new had to be bought.  Then my son was to mail it but didn't for a while until he "remembered" because it was rolling around in his back seat (I don't have much access to a car).  Then I went to check on it the day before he mailed it!  How embarrassing!   Now the box is "missing" somewhere in the postal system.  No one knows where.  I did keep in touch with the requestor all along so she wasn't too surprised at things.  But now I'm so upset that she hasn't gotten the books.  I feel really bad (not because of credits) because after all this she hasn't gotten her books. They were really nice books!  Some days I feel like I shouldn't even get out of bed!

That all makes sense.  So if you hit the label button again to look at the address again it over-rides the old date and just shows the 2nd time you looked?

I've seen this happen more than once on here.

What I do when I feel this way happens to me is check the post mark date and compair it to the marked mailing date. Plus when I fill out the "recieved" info I make sure to enter in the post mark date.

I have learned in the past when you do this if the postmark date and the mark mailed date don't match or something like that the person will get a warning email.

I think EVERYBODY is now aware that  the missing order of mine is a late mail issue.  I've certainly asked everybody about it :>/   I asked my TG.  I told my requestor.  I've told everyone here!  What a silly I must be!
