First time for this author, and really enjoyed it!

The following was taken from

Set during the violent days of the Napoleonic Wars, this exciting debut novel explores the price of loyalty, the dangers of passionand the transcendent power of love.

Lady Celeste Rivenhall leads a double life: She is a British agent posing as a spy for the French. She has hardened her heart against the reality of her situationfighting to remain true to herself amidst the lies she is forced to live. But when the legendary Lord Aldan Duhearst, Earl of Wessex, is delivered into her hands as a prisoner of war, she knows that she will risk anything to aid the courageous British officeranything but the truth...

Caught in the web of deceit she's woven skillfully on behalf of the crown, Celeste is forced to play the game through to the end. Her dangerous work takes her back to Englandto trap a real traitor. But her prey is nowhere near as threatening as the achingly handsome earl who despises her, yet cannot seem to resist her. Her betrayal of England ignites his anger. Her seductive beauty turns his own body against him. But it is her deepest secret that will bring him to his knees...

I'm looking forward to her next one "The Lady Killer"!

Different kind of romance book with the main character a competent spy during the 1800s. Interesting plot, along with the romantic side. I'm going to try her next one!

This book was very disappointing compared to her earlier one. I struggled to finish it.
