Complete disappointment. The only thing this author can do is rewrite TV. Every piece of this I have seen on TV. This is a mismatched mess of TV formula sandwiched together. Surprisingly she ties it all together, but that was a re-run too.
Quinn is a newly turned vampire, formerly in search of a relic called the ‘Eye’ that allegedly grants 1 wish and his is to be human. Janie is a mercenary hired to retrieve the ‘Eye’ for her boss. Obviously along the way they fall for each other, and then battle some frenimies, and pathetic enemies.
Let’s see… Indiana Jones + several episodes from several seasons of Buffy + Casablanca might equal this. I could not even recommend this for the smut, because there barely was any. Everything felt so forced. And I absolutely hate weak male characters.
I fell in love with Sarah Dearly and Thierry in the first two books of this five book series but they are barely mentioned in this one. Nevertheless, we need to find out what happens with Quinn and Janie as a back story for what will come in the fourth and fifth books of the series. And yes, for the final two books Sarah and Thierry are back as the main characters with Quinn and Janie and the happenings of their book featured in them.
rowen's best so far. worth the read!
