Hello,

Twice now I have had books (which I have sent to my mother who is in a nursing home, 200 miles away from me) listed and ordered as large print received and they are not large print.

How can I verify that the book is indeed a large print?

The books received cannot be relisted as they can't be sent to me.

Thanks.

All I can say is make sure you're requesting a book with the correct ISBN, the one that indicates large print.

You could possibly do a search on Amazon for the book you're looking for and make sure to put the words "large print" when you search. If the book you're looking for has a large print addition, Amazon should come up with it and you can find the ISBN of that paricular book by looking at the product details.

I actually tested this idea out for you and found an ISBN number of a book with large print on Amazon. See the link below.

Thanks for the reply.  I just don't  have the time to do this.  When I search PBS, I search for "large print" and order the books that are indicated as large print that I want.

I even write to the sender and verify the book is large print.

Looks like you got a bum deal, then. Especially if the sender verified it was in large print. Shame on those people!

In the future, I would make sure the book is in large print before marking the book as received. If this happens again, I would mark the book as RWAP (received with a problem) and possibly ask for your credit back.

On those books that you wanted to make sure were large print, couldn't you go into your SETTINGS, and set your RCs to state something like - PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS A LARGE PRINT BOOK" or something like that, then turn the RC off for those books that you don't care whether they're large print or not.

I have quite a few LP books on my BL and I've found that they really don't go very quickly.  Pat

If they are sending the wrong book you can still PM the member and complain/ ask for your credit back. You can also PM the powers that be and report the people that are sending out incorrectly labeled books. Just because the problem transaction button goes away doesn't mean you have no recourse when you are not sent what you ordered. you just have to go about it in a round about way.

Yes, the Admin Team has been very clear that if a book is listed here as Large Print, and you receive a copy that is not large print, that's a "wrong book."  Since you're sending it to an alternate address, you don't have the option of marking it "wrong book."  But you should go to your transactions archive (on the yellow horizontal bar on your "my account" page") and PM the person from there.  (That way your conversation will be "attached" to the transaction.")  Explain the situation, and request your credit back.  If you don't hear back in a week, use the blue "contact us" button at the bottom of any page, and send the admin team feedback.  They really want to support people who need large print.
