If you read and enjoyed the Jack Swyteck/Theo Knight books by this author you will like this one as well. From the inside jacket: "An escaped convict shows up at Theo's asking for help. in return he'll finger who murdered Theo's mother years ago."
Not so fast. Lots of twists and turns, and surprises. Some of the old characters from previous books in this series reaappear, but it really isn't necessary to have read the previous books. The story is set in Grippando's home town of Miami. This book is very fast paced and is an excellent read. Perfect for a plane. 5 stars all the way.

This was the first book I read by this author, and he reminds me of George Pelecanos - he takes time to develop characters who the readers will come to care about. This book is a page-turner not because it features chases and attempted murders (though there are those things), but rather because one wants to know what happens next to Jack and Theo.
