Good read. Two women narrate this story set in a small town in East Texas. Denny is an awkward teenager with a special gift who is dumped on her long absent father. Lucy is the crazy-in-love partner of Denny's reluctant father. A heart-warming story with a little drama thrown in for good measure. This book is in just read once condition.

I absolutely loved this book and its predecessor, "The Second Coming of Lucy Hatch." Read them both if you get a chance. They're emotionally intense stories of romantic love and family love - and loss - in a small town setting. The language varies from lyrical to gritty, but it's all beautifully descriptive.

If i didn't have so many books already i would not let this one go--it was that good. Ms.Moyer has a smooth talk that just flows like you are there with her having sweet tea on a hot Texas day. I have now ordered all of her books. This is the story of Lucy Hatch and an easy life that makes me want to go to Texas and live next door to her. I loved her Aunt Dove and her boyfriend Ash, and her boss Peggy, and a few others i will not mention else the story will be ruined. Lucy had lived a different life for 18 years and then her husband died, a few short months later, life became very interesting for Lucy and all of a sudden i was sucked into the pages and could not put the book down, it had me from the second page. I absolutely for sure on stars above, love this book--this is a fantastic author.

A story of forgiveness with a touch of humor and tenderness makes this a delight to read.
