Connected short stories about the working-class "townies" who frequent a local bar in a small town in upstate New York. Fast read, unless you are not really interested in the lives of the novel's "loser" characters. I liked the author's melancholy narrative voices and the way you could nearly catch a buzz while reading the book stone cold sober!
