If you are a James Lee Burke fan, this is the perfect addition to your collection. Written early in his career in 1971, this is a larger paperback reprint from the UK. While the book was written before Burke invented Dave Robicheaux and all his other famous Louisiana characters, it is a great read and helps you see how well developed his writing was even 38 years ago.

The main character is Hack Holland, so I'll have to go back and see if his newer character, Billy Bob Holland, is from the same family or if this is just a coincidence.

Enjoy!
