Loren's mother, meanwhile, "a happily married woman of a certain age," finds herself taking a precipitious leap into an affair with a curious and unexpected suitor.
It's not only the Parish's who find leap year disconcerting. David and Loren's mutual friend, Lillian, who has given up on finding a husband (at least during her child-bearing years), opts for artificial insemination, with complicated, and complicating, results: she thinks she knows the donor. And when Heath is offered a show of his photographs at the Gallery Shawangunk by its icily bizarre curator, Amanda Paine, he dares to think his troubles may be over. They've just begun. All this is further compounded by a murder, an alleged earthquake, an accidental kidnapping, an inordinate amount of dining out, and a regrettable amount of bad publicity.« less
I really enjoyed this book. Very fast paced with a lot of interesting and unexpected twists to the story. Deals with the lives of various characters during the course of a year.
