Definition:

"Making an argument based only on the premise that your holy book is sufficient authority; citing lots of bible verses as if they were persuasive."

hahahaha, I can already think of a phrase to use....."Save your Godbotting for the sheeples!  It's useless against me."  I think I hear Star Wars music in the background.......

Charlie, I never reveal my sources. ;)

Pharangula is a pretty interesting blog.  It's evolved over time, but the guy's got some great perspectives. :)

Anyway, I thought it was pretty apropos considering we've been "Godbotted" lately.

"Thou shall not reveal L's Godbotting sources" This is from one of the "Lost Books of the Bible"...I am just sure of it! ;)

Im not certain that was always the def of godbotting or there are two defs cause back in the day when I frequented chats more often people would create "bots" that posted bible verses and then send them to pagan chats. We called them godbots.

Chris, it's possible the human counterpart was named after the mechanical version.  Somewhere back in the recesses of my Usenet archive, I sort of remember the term "Godbot" too, now that you mention it.  But when you Google it, it only brings up a handful of hits, including Pharangula.

It kindof reminded me, at first, of Femmebot in Austin Powers. LOL I have this image....Elizabeth Hurley with a halo and cords...

Makes sense L. The back in the day godbots were created by people who were too lazy to do their own proselityzing.

Yes its true I often pointed out that they were commiting one of the seven deadly sins (sloth) by being to lazy to come thump their bibles at us in person.
