Leaving Cold Sassy is the follow-up book to Cold Sassy Tree, by Olive Ann Burns.
This book is a combination of Mrs. Burn's unfinished sequel to Cold Sassy Tree, notes regarding the sequel and Mrs. Burn's life and final days.
The novel part of the book reads more like a romance. I did not find any great, enduring message in it, like I did in Cold Sassy Tree.
I brought this book because I loved Cold Sassy Tree so much that I wanted to read more. I was so disappointed I did not even finish this book.
I would recommend that you save your time and not read this book. A great sequel to Cold Sassy Tree, written by Olive Ann Burns is just not to be.

What was a surprise to me in this book was half of it was about Olive Ann Burns' own life, most of which I knew nothing about. What a brave, selfless person she was! I recommend the book not only to read about the unfinished book she wrote, but mostly about her.

Short sequel to Cold Sassy Tree since the author died of cancer before she could finish the book. Also contains her notes for ideas for the rest of the book and her struggle with her disease.

I loved Cold Sassy Tree, and while Olive Ann Burns was not able to complete this sequel, it gives one much food for thought and an interesting insight into the author's own life.
