I've heard about this series for so long- I was intrigued. Glad that I read it to better understand the popularity, but must say that it felt rather hokey to me. Shallow characters, predictable relationships, etc. I didn't think I could stomach the rest in the series!!

This book is absolutely awful. The characters are awful, the writing is awful, the premise and plot are awful, the politics are awful, the message is awful. The writers kind of hurry up to convert the non-Christian protagonists into Christians, which process is silly and reminded me of reading those Chick tracts people used to give out on the street. People fall in love and stuff, awkwardly. The United Nations and Catholic Church come in for some bashing...like in those Chick tracts! All that said, five stars. I loved it and you will too. It makes you laugh and feel good about yourself. The second one is even better. Now please, somebody request it!

This book really needs editing; characters are weak and uni-dimensional. I for one would expect some deep introvertion instead of a three page long diatribe on the greatness of becoming a christian, I was bored by page 60.
The last two chapters were as fast moving as a daytime soap on sweeps week, though.
I wonder, what would other religions think of this one?
