So it seems that the Lendle people decided to put the side up for sale: http://lendle.tumblr.com/post/23184237439/for-sale

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and we think Lendle has been an amazing success.

With all that said, we started out as a team of three, and we remain a team of three: We’ve not outsourced the design, the troubleshooting, or the customer service, and we’ve accomplished all of this without accepting a single penny of outside funding.

I imagine they can get somebody to buy the site, I just wonder how things will change when they do.

I think I'd better use up most of my loan credits. There's no telling how it will change.

But it'll be interesting to see if anyone bites. I'd be leery of anything so Dependent on Amazon and their lending program. They turn it off in the future and there goes your whole business.

Well all I really cared about was borrowing as many as I lent and I'm even on that.  Especially since most of what I lent were ones I caught as freebies.  It would be disappointing if it closed down because I did buy a patron membership. Kind of sorry I did that as they don't seem to pay much more than non-patron.  I think the biggest rebate towards the $10 gift certificate that I've gotten is about $.30.  But then most of the books I lend cost less than $4.50 to buy.  So that could be it. But I lent one that's like $7 to buy and it only paid about a quarter.

I don't care if I lose the bonus pts they give for listing books or really for books I got for free and was able to lend.  Like I said my main thing was borrowing as many as I lent out.  After the borrow request I made today I'm 19/19.  I have $2.69 towards the gift certificate.

One of the things I wish they'd do is remove all Non-Lendable items from their lists. I know they probably want people to use it to list their books, like Librarything and Goodreads, but at a lending site I find it just slows me down when looking for something interesting.

I only want to see what lendables are in and available. I don't care to know that someone has just gotten a book that's not lendable. It just wastes space.

Ebookfling does that as well- lists the non-lendables. Drives me nuts. I just operate off the wishlist instead and only put on my wishlist lendables. Makes it much simpler.

I don't like their whole searching process at all.  Even if I put in the title and author it never brings the book I am looking for up for me right away. I get books that seem to have no connection to what I searched until I do it a couple of times.

Also 90% of the requests to borrow a book I have seem to come between Midnight and 4a.m.  So by the time I check my email, someone has beaten me to it.  And I check my email usually by 7 or 8 a.m.

True. There's a lot of risk involved for whomever buys it and it depends how much they are selling it from. I don't know how many customers they have but they probably have a database that anybody would be willing to get their hands on. But who knows how much they are asking.
