A sweet read for all Charlotte Mason fans, though not quite as filled with examples of what a CM life looks like as was the first book, Pocketful of Pinecones. All the same characters return and you do see examples of a CM lifestyle when Carol fills in as a substitute teacher for a short while. Overall, I felt it was a nice book if you are looking for little more than a cozy, innocent read on a lazy day.
