A collection of letters sent from a union civil war nurse. She gives details regarding the conditions of her stations, the people she worked with and little information regarding the civil war battles. Cornelia talks about her duties, the food and activities in the camps. She was highly regarded by the doctors and soldiers alike. She proved that Dorthea Dix was not always the best judge of character. Cornelia was a rare woman of the times and a quaker. I enjoyed this book very much.
