A little dated (raves about the management of Enron), but a great introduction to the topic.

An deep look at the difference between western culture - this is my thing - and eastern culture - this is my land. As always Tom Friedman helps us understand the sources of conflict in the middle east from the cause end rather than the effect.

An entertaining discussion of a complex subject; Friedman does well to make it interesting.

Every page of this book reminded me how smart people with dumb ideas make it into mainstream media and the public mind. Friedman is an economic liberal journalist tries to sound like an economist. Most of his conclusions are drawn from anecdotes, not solid research. The fundamentalism behind Friedman's economic liberal ideas is now mostly outdated, especially since the current recession has once again revealed the dangers of relying entirely on the market. I'd give the book another read just to set up a blog about how unfounded Friedman's arguments are and why. For those looking for readable economic liberal perspectives on globalization, I'd suggest skipping Friedman and reading Joseph Stiglitz's "Globalization and its Discontents" or Jeffery Sachs's "The End of Poverty."

Give some insight into why we don't see eye to eye with cultures from the East.
