This may not be the right forum for this question but I was not sure where to put it. Does anyone have ideas for a good free library management software for windows? I used to use libra and loved it but after cataloging ALL of my books and using it a while it just stopped working so I am now looking for a repacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wanda

I don't use it myself, but BookDB looks interesting. Goodreads.com might be worth looking at as well, although all of your info will be stored in your account with them and not on a computer.

Hi Wanda,

You may want to post this in the CMT forum also.  You may get more members reading it and thus more suggestions.

BookToMe  is what I use, and I'm basically computer-challenged.

It's free.

Google "BookToMe software reviews"  for expert opinions and to get the download

I'm a Goodreads user myself.  I used to keep track of all my reading in a spreadsheet every year, but have gradually switched over to just Goodreads as they make it much easier.  It is through the internet though, as mentioned above, so if you're looking to keep on your computer it wouldn't be a good match.

It's not free... but the BEST library software is Book Collector from collectorz.com

I use it exclusively to manage my book collection. I even have a seperate section in the software where I have books that I have on order and books I still need (WL)! It allows you to keep your database on your pc and to even dl your wantlist to mobile units for trips to the book store! :)

Yes, I use Book Collector too, and I think it's awesome! I have several thousand books catalogued in it.

It is not free but it is low cost.
