My best friend, who probably has more books than I do, bought a new computer two weeks ago after being without one for many years. I'm turning her on to all sorts of sites, showed her my LibraryThing accounts but if she's interested in doing her Reading List and/or Book Inventory at an internet site I'd like to give her a cross section of places to look into, not just LibraryThing.

Are there any other sites similar to these two?

I haven't had problems with ISBNs, but I'm not sure what you mean about the graphics being too cumbersome. Do you mean loading time? I've uploaded covers to LT and that's been working just fine.

I don't want to influence my friend towards any particular site because we all look for something different and she needs to make up her own mind, but I'd like to give her more options that just LT and GR.

I've invested too much time and energy to switch to another site at this point, I'm happy there. One thing I like, regardless of what site is used, is having my book inventory and 40-year long reading list 'stored' off my computer as well as being in my databases. Linda has her own databases which she hopes to transfer from her old computer (which didn't die; but mine did and I lost everything) but she's interested in something off-site so to speak.

I recommend Goodreads as well.  I find it my go-to site now when I want to look up book info.  I also love the way it allows you to connect with other readers who have similar taste.  It has really renewed my love of reading.  My user profile ink is BarkLessWagMore .

Shelfari - that's one I totally forgot about! Thanks, Anne, for the reminder. I told my friend about GoodReads & LibraryThing and she seemed interested in doing something like that so I'll have to tell her about Shelfare.
