This book by Phil McGraw captures and keeps your attention from the first page of the introduction (where he tells the story of how he met Oprah and took the first steps from being a litigation consultant to the country's life coach). He shares personal experiences of what some would call "light bulb moments" or times he "got it". He distills the life lessons he's learned into a clear action plan for a better life. Get out a pencil and actually do the exercises to best create real change.
Highly recommended to all who want more out of life.

This book teaches what Dr. Phil calls "The Ten Laws of Life". There is a good "relationship questionnaire" and the last chapter is "Relationship Rescue". There are 18 assignments through the entire book to help you reflect. I really liked that this is an easy to understand book and that it helps you look at things in your life that you might not have thought of before.
He explains the ten laws of life: You either get it or don't.
Solution: Become one of those who gets it.
~You create your own experience.
Accept accountability for your life.
~People do what works.
Identify the payoffs that drive you and others.
~You cannot change what you do not acknowledge.
Get real with yourself about life and everybody in it.
I could list more laws, but you really need to read
the book. He gives you the best "nuts and bolts" info
to help you turn the negatives into positives.
This book was hard for me to get thru because it challenged me to take a step back and examine my life and myself. In the end, I learned a lot about myself. A good book for anyone who wants to move forward in life and get to the next chapter.
