I'm starting this thread with a specific recommendation, but I hope others have some too!!  :)  Specifically christian fantasy....

I liked "Wings of Dawn" by Sigmund Brouwer.  It does not have dragons, but it does have scientist/magicians.  :)

I second that one! Wings of Dawn is terrific.  I believe he wrote a children's version of the same story, in a series of short books. Winds of Light or something like that.

One of these days, I am breaking down and buying the "Dragons In Our Midst" series by Bryan Davis.

Anything by Karen Hancock or Stephen Lawhead. I have Hancock's Arena available on my shelf right now...

I read Bryan Davis' Eye of the Oracle - it was really good but slow. I'd like to read them all but if they are all that slow, at several hundred pages each, it could take a year to get through the whole series!

I love Sharon Hinck's Restorer series and I also enjoyed Bryan Davis's "Beyond The Reflection's Edge" and am looking forward to the next one in that series.  I just did an interview with D. Barkley Briggs for my blog - posted it this morning - he wrote "The Book Of Names"  (Legends of Karac To series) and it was great!  He is giving away an autographed copy on my blog if you want to check it out here...

L. B. Graham and Christopher Hopper are two more.  Graham wrote The Binding of the Blade series, but it's a bit like Lord of the Rings in depth and style, so be warned.  I haven't read Hopper yet, but I have his first book, Rise of the Dibor, on my shelf to read when I have time.

Oh, and Ted Dekker's Circle Trilogy is a sort of combination fantasy/science fiction, and very good.
