I grew up reading books like these - they present social situations for girls, parents, and grandparents in the erly 1900's. Very moralistic, yet full of real life situations that takes the reader to a different time and place. This story is not unlike Louisa May Alcott's stories like Little Women, etc. I enjoyed it very much - light reading, good for jr high and up. There are a few words used that applied to the time period of yesteryear, which might require investigation into a dictionary for the young readers. So good to take us to a place where life was so family oiriented, and the importance of the little things that count are present here.
