Great adventure and romance spanning late 1800's New York to the Western frontier to the mansions of San Francisco.

Excellent saga of an Irish orphan girl who suffers heartbreak and tragedy, does a stint in a San Francisco whorehouse, becomes the founder of a farming empire, and beats high society at their own game. There's a great love story also, with bittersweetness and feelgood moments throughout.
