I have been wanting to read these books so I dug them out of my TBR pile and I'm not sure if I have them all and what order they go in.

These are what I have

Mackenzie's Mountain  ISBN 1-55166-574-3

Mackenzie's Honor   ( this one says it has two stories in it)  ISBN 0-77832267-x    Mackenzie's Pleasure and A Game of Chance

Could someone let me know what order and how many

Thanks so much!

Lisa

FictFact has them listed in this order:

Mackenzies Mountain

Mackenzies Mission

Mackenzies Pleasure

Mackenzies Magic

A Game of Chance

In this case the only thing that confuses me then, is why would Mackenzies Honor consist of the third and fifth stories rather than consecutive stories?

This is a series that ive been wanting to read for a while too, im pretty sure i have them all but its a matter of finally getting to them and digging them all out, lol.

Mackenzie's Honor and A Game of Chance were both full length novels.  The 4th story in the series, Mackenzie's Magic, is a short story.  It was orignially published in one of those 3 stories in 1 Christmas special books they put out every year.

Definitely a series worth reading again and again!  I've read them all numerous times.

The Omnibus is reissues of the originals with 2 books incorporated into one.

They books were originally Silhouette Intimate Moments books.

I love pleasure, magic and game of chance - game of chance mostly because of the wrap up - thought Chance was a jerk LOL! pleasure I think was probably one of the hottesta nd I liked Magic a lot - I usually skim through the first part of Pleasure then read til the end and read all of Magic then Game of Chance. I've re-read them all - esp this past year but the first 2 I don't usually re-read as much as the others.

Yeah, I think Pleasure definitely tipped the hot meter for me of the series.

First time I read Chance, I wasn't all that thrilled with it(too big I build up in my mind I think-and I really hate the lying/fell in love angle.  But I've read it again and again, and it's grown on me.  In particular the parts about a young Chance and how his past shaped him.  No matter how many times I've read it, the part of Wolf in the barn with Chance at the end....I cry like a baby.  Unca Dance(that's from Danny)-has definitely grown on me.

And-Danny-is simply one of the most engaging child characters I've come across.

As long as you read Mountain First... it doesn't really matter what order you read the rest.

I liked going in order because the kids show up in differnt books but each story stands alone. Joe was already 18 or 19 when Wolf and Mary started having kids.

I think the kid is Nick or Nicky and she's sure a pistol!

I never can decide which book is hotter--Mountain, Mission, or Pleasure.  They're all pretty darned hot for series romance books.

You're right-where I got "Danny" from I have no idea.  Zane's daughter is Nicole Mary.  I do recommend reading them in order-it's not hard to follow if you don't, but it gives you lil glimpse's of characters after they have their hea's if you do.

I'm still bummed she never wrote the other 2 brothers' stories - like theyw eren't important or something! the name Danny sounds familiar to me but can't remember where I heard  it - I remember Nick 'cause i just re-read these less thana year ago and the characters are some of my faves - if I could spend a week with a fictional family this would be one of my top picks(unless the wives kicked my a$$ for drooling over their hunky men!)

I remember reading somewhere that the author said the other 2 brothers' stories just didn't spark for her so she never even tried to write them.  I was disappointed in that also.

sigh..don't know what wouldn't spark between a test pilot's career being over while her recovers and marries his doctor and a rancher marrying the granddaughter of the storekeeper who was so prejudiced about his daughter dating Joe back in Wolf's story! they'd sure spark for me LOL! I'm also pizzed elizabeth lowell never wrote utah's story in that silhouette series she did years ago - tennesee and nevada got one and utah's was hinted at strongly but he never got a story.

I know, from the little she says about the other 2 brothers, I think they both would have been great stories.  She talks about not wanting to write any more stories for the grandkids because it makes Wolf and Mary older in each story and she doesn't want to go there.  But to go back and write the other 2 brothers' stories wouldn't do that.

I also agree about Utah's story.  I love that series!

For anyone who is interested---Danny name was in Zane's story.. Near the end when Nicky is on the roof, Chance calls her the antichrist (as a joke!) One of her young cousins asked his mommy why Uncle Chance called her the "Dannychrist".

I like the series so well I have the books in both paperback and hardback (except for Magic that I still hope to find one day.)
