Discussion of The Link magazine was buried in the thread talking about The Old Schoolhouse.  I'm starting a new thread.

I wrote them today asking if the magazine was free, as many here mentioned, or only by subscription ($29.95/yr I think).  This was the reply:

=====

From 1995 to this year, The Link was a free newspaper. Now it is a subscription-based magazine. However, we are sending complimentary copies of the magazine to anyone who requests it, for the next few months. We will be pleased to send you a copy and also, if you would like to receive a box of The Link to pass along to your homeschool group or your homeschooling friends, please let us know. Either way, please provide us with your mailing address to receive your copy and let us know if we can send you a “no obligation” box.

Cordially,

The Link Circulation Department

Thanks! I sent my email :-)  I am probably going to get bombarded since I have put my email addy out there for so many things in the past few days, but I am just not sure what we want or what route we are going to take with him. :-)

Kelli - make a free email address for "junk".  I love Gmail for this!  I especially like Gmail for online groups because of the way it threads messages.  I don't like my "real" email box getting full of "chatter" or advertisements.

The Link is a fantastic publication. I didn't know they changed to paid subscriptons. In the past I only got it sporadically due to their way of sending one box of free newspapers at a time (the old ones were printed on newsprint). Thanks!

It's a beautiful, full-color, magazine on matte paper (I hate glossy!).

I love the LInk and used to pick up free copies at my library. I don't think I can justify a subscription at this time though. Maybe after Christmas.

I wonder if the box different past issues or all the same issue? I imagine it's all the same issue.

I received my box of samples today.  They were all the same and she sent 45 copies, because that's how many families we have in our co-op.  So I think they'll send how many you need.
