Even if you watch the show, this is their backstory. Yes the tv show picks up where they left off, but it didn't take two much from the book. The first couple episodes are the ending of the book, but if you value the story behind the characters and what they were feeling, it will help you understand the tv show much more. Its a really great read and moves only pretty quickly. I really recommend reading this for anyone who enjoys chick-lit.

I've read A LOT of chick lit, and most of it does have a certain amount of fluff or things that are really more laughable than anything else. But therein usually lies the appeal for those times when you want a "light" read. This book, however, is a total snooze-a-thon. In keeping with Sex And The City, it portrays a bunch of women ranging from career driven singletons to socialites, all of whom have one thing in common: they're totally desperate. It's really kind of pathetic - I know that I wouldn't want to be in any of their shoes.

This was a great book about 3 friends who are on the list of the most powerful women in NYC, how they juggle their personal lives with their professional lives, and the sacrifices they make on both those ends. I really liked this one! I am looking forward to seeing the series based on this book on TV this fall!!

First, I must admit that I haven’t had the pleasure of reading Sex and the City, so this is my first adventure with Candace Bushnell. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with three females as the center. I loved that each character was unique, but their friendships with each other were genuine and I could imagine how they became friends and why they stayed friends.

A story of their adventures in New York and the trials that women face. I absolutely adored how the women in this story were successful and powerful. It was interesting to read how the men in their life reacted to their successes. I enjoy reading books were the men are put into a different position and how the dynamics of the family must change due to the role reversals.

A great chick lit that made me want to continue reading Candace Bushnell. A must read for all chick lit fans.

The survival strength one learns to overcome defeat, professionally, personally, and mentally. Bushnell writes in a style that is easy to read and very witty. Loving every page!

This book was wonderful! It is now a tv series. The book is slightly different then the TV series, but a great book nonetheless.
