Lisa Moore (born 28 March 1964) is a Canadian writer.

Born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Moore studied art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Although she had intended to follow a career in the visual arts, she now writes full time.

Moore is married to Stephen Crocker, an associate professor of Sociology at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Moore's 2002 book Open was a commercial and critical breakthrough, earning a nomination for the Giller Prize. Her first novel, Alligator (2005), was also nominated for the Giller Prize. It won the 2006 Commonwealth Writers' Prize Best Book Award, Caribbean and Canada Region, and is longlisted for the 2007 IMPAC Award. Moore often incorporates her Newfoundland heritage in her work; Alligator, for example, is set in St. John's.

February is her newest work. The book tells the story of Helen O'Mara, who lost her husband Cal when the oil rig, Ocean Ranger, sank off the coast of Newfoundland during a Valentine's Day storm in 1982.

Lisa Moore is one of 13 novelists on the long list for the 2010 Man Booker Prize for her novel February, a prize worth approximately $80,000. In an interview with CBC Radio, Moore said she was "completely overwhelmed with happiness" when she heard the news while staying in a remote cabin with her husband.
