Oh all good choices, my faves are the Changelings and the Breeds and of course the BDB.

Also want to nominate the Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter

I started reading one of Showalter's Atlantis books and I didn't like it at all - the first one - and didn't like it at all. Should I try the underworld series?

Do you mean erotica or just regular paranormal romance that is heavy on the sex?

Either I guess lol. I actually prefer the paranormal heavy on the sex. I like Lora Leigh's Breeds as erotica but they get kind of boring.

Yes, I hated the Atlantis one and i really did try to like it since it came highly recommended.

The underworld one is seperate and very different, more like the BDB , ongoing storyline and lots of great alpha males.

Anyone tried Sherri L. King's Shikar Series?  (the first ones are known as Horde Wars)?  I have only read the first, but definitely hot!

I liked The Horde Wars and Razor's Edge--still need to get the rest of them.  The heroine's aren't wussy either:lol:

I thought A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole started out with a bang in that series but the following books while pretty good, don't exactly live up to the first one.

BDB pretty much set a standard for alphas.

I like the Shelley Laurenston shifters books since there is some pretty awesome humor injected--makes a nice break from the life and death themes in other paranormal/erotica books.

I loved the Larissa Ione book too--very excited about the rest of them:)

Now you've got me curious about Lynn Viehl's series.  I've been reading her science fiction Stardoc series and I love it...but it's a long way from erotic paranormal!  I've kind of delibrately stayed away from the more romantic paranormal, but I put the first Darkyn book on my WL.  Wish me luck :-p

LOL - Darkyn Series is not erotica however there are some very graphic love scenes beyond just romance imo.

Kate Douglas----Wolf Tales I thru VII----Really HOT

I love Lora Leigh and her Breeds, but Kate Douglas has them beat for erotica.  Also Jet Mykles has some out-there books!

Loved the Wolf Tales by Kate Douglas.  I am waiting for the 4th and 5th in that series.  I was surprised when one poster on a Romance discussion said that she hated them because of the "beastiality".  I guess I didn't think of that at all when I read them.   I just thought they were good erotica.

IAD gets my vote.

And Margaret, I really like the Underworld series, I have the Atlantis, but haven't read it yet.  I'm reading the second of the Underworld right now and I loved the first.

i really liked the StarDoc series, but every time i picked up one of the Darkyn books in the store (and i tried several), i *really* didn't like the beginning of it, and put it within a few pages.

The Meredith Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton is pretty erotic, don't think that one's been mentioned yet.

I have the first Darkyn book in my TBR since I am a fan of the Stardoc series as well I thought I'd give it a try. I haven't had the chance to get to it yet.

Is the Wolf Tales series one I should start reading from the beginning? I have the newest one in my TBR but I've never read any of the others.

In my opinion, the first Darkyn book is not much of a romance. It is, however, very good.  Possibly the best of the series. Private Demon was also excellent, I thought. I wouldn't consider either to be very erotic, though.

Wolf Tales, from what I have heard, should be read in order, as they are sort of like an erotic soap opera... characters make recurring appearances, etc...

Just a note:  I, personally, really enjoyed Wolf Tales 1 (it's the only one I have read so far) (I reviewed it here if interested) and it has a following apparantly (take a look at the w/l numbers!)  HOWEVER:  it, maybe, should come with some sort of warning:  it is definitely erotica for the VERY open minded and NOT easily offended!  Some argue there is bestiality in it, some don't quite see it that way... I think an argument can be made either way, but it isn't how I see it.  Nevertheless, many people seem to have been truly offended by it.

Also, there is every conceivable combo in these books (m/m; f/f, mmf, dunno about ffm).  Some like this, some don't.  I only write this because from what I have read in some posts and reviews, some people are genuinely offended and upset by these books and if someone had warned them, maybe they would not have chosen to read these books.  Reading should be fun :)

Okay!

Hope that helped!

Dark Need is my favorite of the series - Lucan's story. There isn't ALOT of sex in the series however the scenes were explicit. I guess compared to Kate Douglas or Lora Leigh - they aren't lol.
