I'm a fan of Marcia Muller's Sharon McCone series, and this one didn't disappoint. The series is fun, intriguing, and it takes you to new places and is full of new surprises while still building on the foundation built early on.

No need to read the series in order; the backstory fills in quite nicely.

Fast paced. McCone is a funny and gutsy heroine, weaving Indian culture in to enrich the plot.

Sleuth Sharon McCone investigates her own history in this novel. It is well written and easy to read, and the theme of "listening to the silence"...what people don't say... is fascinating.

I will be reading more from this author!

This is an excellent story, a little different from the normal Sharon McCone mystery. In this one, she discovers she is adopted (I'm not giving anything away, it's on the back cover!) and the story is her adventures in trying to trace her birth family--since no one in her family will tell her anything. It's interesting, heart-warming, dangerous, exciting, and very rewarding to read.

This is book 21 in this series and I really enjoyed the tie into Sharon McCone's Native American heritage.
