" When I was seven, my mother drove the family car off a thirty-foot bridge...." and so starts the story and view into the character, Dora's life.

Great book! Hooked me from the first page. Lots of short chapters which makes it easy to read in short bursts at a time. Each chapter starts with a various quote from a book that often relates to the what the current chapter is about. It is about a gal who is a book junkie and how she deals with all the challenges she encounters in her life. She meets lots of interesting people that you get introduced to as she is coping and dealing with love, life, family, and job issues.

Two sisters grew up in a family with an alcoholic mother, and one of them retreated from the trouble by reading. As an adult in the luxury culture of L.A., she is still binging on books when life gets difficult. I enjoyed the references to books she was reading.

A different read for me but it definitely held my interest - especially because the main character has an obsession with reading, just like me! :p I thought at times that the story didn't seem to flow together but then after a bit, I was able to pick up where it was going - could have been me at the time. A good book to read though - it was enjoyable.
