I have read most all of Loren D.Estleman's books. Peter Macklin is a crook and a "gun for hire." Only Estleman can make him out to be a hero in his books. I liked all of the book except when his new wife leaves him in the end even though she knew what kind of a man he was and what he had done in the past.
