  “My Little Teapot”

Lord, I long to be more like my little teapot…
She is a vessel willing to serve and give of herself.
Often she is filled with hot tea,
Which warms her from the inside out.

The teapot does not keep all the warmth to herself,
Lest it become lukewarm and unfit to share.
Rather, she passes the warmth on to those around her.
The more she gives, the more she receives.
The warmth flows through her into the lives of others.

The little teapot longs to be useful,
She is not willing to set in the cupboard and collect dust.
She loves to share among friends, family and visitors.
She is always ready to lend an ear and warm a heart.

As the years go by, the little teapot may get worn or chipped,
But as long as she can hold tea I dare not toss her aside.
She holds so many fond memories of visits with friends, family and guests.
For as long as this teapot is able…she will be a vessel of service.

So Lord, it is my prayer that I become more like my little teapot:
A willing vessel ready to serve others.
Giving of Your warmth and Your love.
Giving out that I may be filled with Your Spirit daily.
May Your Love flow through me and into the lives of others.

Years later when they think of me, may it bring back fond
memories of visits, fellowship, encouragement and most of all…
The sharing of Your Love.
Lord, how I long to be more like my little teapot.

From my heart to yours,
