After the success of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books, some authors wrote similar books about Laura's Ma, grandmother, and great grandmother (as well as her daughter). I do not like the abridged versions (that's what this copy is) of this series as much as I like the originals. The originals are not too wordy, and are just as interesting, if not more. Have not read this particular book in the series, but I can say this for the other books. And I cannot say for sure that I would rate this book 5 stars since I haven't read it, but others in the series have been 5 stars.
