I Don't Live There Anymore Author:Doug Oldham with Fred Bauer Doug Oldham is soloist for The Old-Time Gospel Hour television and radio network throughout the US, Canada and around the world. However, he is a great deal more than just a typical soloist. The word "communicator" best describes Doug's musical ministry. — Doug Oldham is real. I have travelled thousands of miles with him. I have lived in motel ro... more »oms with him. I have stood on platforms before thousands of people with him. He is the same everywhere. Doug has a genuine love for the Lord and for people.
Letters come to my desk weekly from persons whose lives have been changed through Doug's songs. Recently, one lady aborted a suicide attempt and received Christ as her Lord and Saviour because of hearing Doug sing "Broken Pieces."
Doug was typical of millions of religious people who have never experienced Jesus Christ in a personal way. Doug was raised up in a wonderful home. However, he never had a personal encounter with the Son of God until later in life. He had actually been in church work for 11 years before meeting the Lord face to face. In this book Doug tells of the dark days in his life. Because of these dark days, Doug is able to communicate to those persons who are chained by sin. He has been there. He identifies and does it well.
But this story does not stay with those dark days. It continues until the light of God's love in the person of Jesus Christ came into Doug's life and today Doug is a living reality of what a personal encounter with the Son of God can do for a man.
