This is such a great place to go. My dh and I started going to ours more frequently and it is really saving us. On our last trip, we estimated that we saved $25.00 by going there instead of the grocery store for certain items.

You have to watch the dollar stores closely. I calculated the cost of some of the things and some things, like garbage bags, are a rip off at the dollar store. Baggies are not a deal at the $ store either. There's not as many per carton.

Check the dates too. My will have things that are out of date or going out in a couple of days.

We definitely steered clear of the garbage bags. I think you only got 8 in a container. But it was great for cleaning items, plastic storage containers for food, soaps, some kitchen utensils that I desperately needed to replace, hand strainer (saved $7 on that alone!) and some dishtowels that are cleaning nicer than my expensive ones that were $10 for 2. We are going back for easter for my nephew and niece. They had some great things for basket filler that were pretty nice since we have to be careful what we spend on them too. We tend to spoil them since we do not have kids of our own yet :-)
