Is there a way to narrow the member directory search (in a specific area) to types of books or authors?  There are several members with public profile in Albuquerque, NM but I don't know how to see of any of them like the same type of authors or books as I do.

Thanks,  Peach

If they have a public profile you should just be able to go to their bookshelf from the public profile.  You can PM them from there.

And be sure to check if there are meetings in your area.  There is a whole forum that lists them.

I would go by WL more than bookshelf. Some people post a lot of books they haven't read that they get cheap or from other people. The WL is more likeky to contain their book tastes.

MaryL,

you are right - my wishlist is books I really want. My bookshelf is just books I am willing to part with and some of those came from my wife or from a friend who joined PBS but was too busy with family issues to participate.

What would be best, tho, would be if we could access the To Be Read list - as that shows what the member has available to them, which would be even more revealing of  their tastes. No, strike that -- I do not want my TBR list posted for the world to see, so let's keep that as it is (grins).
