I got an interesting PM from the lady who sent me this book. She said she'd never sent a club book to a man before. (One presumes she mostly reads romances...) I wrote back to tell her it was for my wife, who had fallen under the Macomber spell recently. She even has me recording and watching the Cedar Cove series on TV.
Funny thing happened when this book came in.
I was carrying it up to our bedroom to put in my wife's To Be Read pile when I had to stop and visit the modern convenience. There I was, sitting for a moment with nothing to read except this book for my wife that happened to be in my hand. So I looked it over, then read the first page to pass the time.
50 pages later, I came to my senses and realized that I was actually reading this romance book. Egads!
So I finished the book over the next few days, and enjoyed it a lot. I even read the second novel that is in the book. Had to find out what was going to happen to all the characters, you know.
That Macomber woman can sure write!
This is a paperback Western romance novel; a little different from her usual books, but very good. You'll care about the characters in the little town of Promise, Texas. Relationships, loves and misunderstandings. I enjoyed it.
Good things happen to those who wait. That's what this book reminds me of. Macomber again has written some wonderful stories.
