I read this book after I had read the second in the series. Mystery and suspense novels are my favorite genre to read. This book kept me on edge. I must say that I liked the second in the series better. I'm looking forward to the third in the series and the book is already on my wishlist. Only recently I became introduced to Colleen Coble having read everything else by my other favorite mystery/suspense authors. Other favorites are Terri Blackstock, Brandilyn Collins and Mindy Starns Clark.

This book was interesting in the fact that it covers the experience of a women who finds out that her twin baby did not die shortly after birth. Throughout the book someone is chasing her trying to find something she doesn't know she has. The villian was a total surprise. Good christian book that tells the story of two unlikely people that fall in love even though numerous obstacles stand in their way!

Shannon returns to southwest Texas to serve as the town's veterinarian, hoping to get her life back on track. She meets up with Jack MacGowan, the man who caused her great pain and embarrassment years before. She is shocked at the the sight of Jacks young daughter Faith, who bears a huge resemblance to Kylie, her own daughter. Is Faith be the daughter that Shannon has believed to be dead for all these years?

I really liked this book, which is the second in the Lonestar series by Colleen Coble. It's an adventurous story with intrigue, mystery, and horses. The heroine is strong and brave, but has also discovered she has MS, and has to cope with the symptoms. I highly recommend this novel.
