So, what is your longest wait for a wish list book.  I used the sort by position and mine is #570 out of 582 wishers.  Wonder if this is a book I will be buying?

MIne is 757 of 936 with a wait of 127 weeks. It's for Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella, so I don't think I'll really have to wait nearly 2 1/2 years for it.  The next one up is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins; I'm 664 of 831 with no time estimate.

Some of those long WL lines move pretty quickly.  There are books that are constantly WL (like the Sookie Stackhouse) books-but the lines constantly move-they are just so popular that new people are constantly WL them.

I'm #286 I think out of 385 for the next Nauti book by Lora Leigh-but that hasn't been released yet.

When I first joined, I would have seen these numbers as TOO LONG to WAIT!   Now I know that they mean nothing in terms of getting a book.  I have been 1 of 1 for the entire year on books that there seem to be no copies and I get books where I am 300+ in a couple months.  Now I wait unless it is a favorite author paperback and I just can't wait to find out what happens, like an Elizabeth Hoyt or Madeline Hunter.  Amazon stock must be going down since I found PBS.

I think the wait for OOPs is much longer than for new releases... I'm #41 of 327 for Ties That Bind by Lora Leigh/Jaid Black. It's been on my WL since 12/2007.

For a while, I was getting wishes granted unexpectedly (of course, it was whenever I didn't have a credit to my name). So I built an Excel spreadsheet to track my WL positions (yeah, nerdy of me). When I first started tracking in 3/2008, I was #95 for Ties, so the line does move. There was a sudden jump in early June '09 (64 to 49) and I wonder if there were users who closed their PBS accounts because of the postage spike in May.

The book I'm in which I'm in highest position (my longest line) is A Deep Kiss of Winter (Kresley Cole/Gena Showalter) where I'm #415 of 474. It was released this month and is a hardcover. *sigh* I didn't add it to my WL until 9/24/2009 (both are NTMA), when I was at #458. But I'll probably end up buying it, possibly used from half.com.

I have to laugh about their little "Estimate" calculator concerning the number of weeks I can expect to wait. It assumes that the same number of books will be posted each week. So if one was posted last week and I'm #29 for the book, they tell me I can expect to be offered that book in 29 wks! WooHoo. Oh baby. Oh baby. I guess I can ignore the fact that the hypothetical book is OOP and that until last week, it hadn't been posted in 19 months. LOL
