I'm looking for a book I read several years ago it was a harlequin or silouette romance about a fireman that broke his leg. His uncle or mom hires a woman to run errands for him. She has a small daughter. The woman's ex husband decides to try to get custody of the daughter for his new wife since she can't have children. The fireman marries the woman to help her keep custody of her daughter and they move to a new house. Any help finding the name of the book would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Mary H

Sounds familiar.  Charlotte Maclay has a series about firemen, Men of Station Six.  They are published under Harlequin American Romance.  Maybe it's one of those books?

There's a Susan Mallery Silhouette Special where the hero is a fireman who is injured saving the heroine and her cat, no daughter. She ends up being something a companion to him - but it's definitely not the book you're looking for, though it's a lovely, heartwarming story. Part of her "Hometown Heartbreakers" series.

I love firefighter books - sort of 'collect' them, regardless of author.

Try Lori Foster. I thought of the book Gail mentioned until I got to the daughter part.
