I am interested in books about nurses in the civil war. I am open to any condition as long as it's not falling to pieces or disintegrating into dust. Even if it's considered unpostable, you can post it and I will take it.... I guess this ok by PBS rules. A colleage and I are nurses and collectors and we are creating a historical nursing archive for our university Department of Nursing.

Oh, gee, I passed on a little Louisa May Alcott book already to someone who collected her stuff.  It was a new book, very tiny, about her short work as a nurse in Washington during the war.  I got it in the bookstore in Gettysburg, maybe a $7 book.  Am going there this coming week for Memorial Weekend...

There should be books available recounting the work of Clara Barton, the "Angel of the Battlefield" (and founder of the American Red Cross), both for adult readers and for juveniles.
