I am interested in books about nurses in the civil war. I am open to any condition as long as it's not falling to pieces or disintegrating into dust. Even if it's considered unpostable, you can post it and I will take it.... I guess this ok by PBS rules. A colleage and I are nurses and collectors and we are creating a historical nursing archive for our university Department of Nursing. |

Oh, gee, I passed on a little Louisa May Alcott book already to someone who collected her stuff. It was a new book, very tiny, about her short work as a nurse in Washington during the war. I got it in the bookstore in Gettysburg, maybe a $7 book. Am going there this coming week for Memorial Weekend... |

There should be books available recounting the work of Clara Barton, the "Angel of the Battlefield" (and founder of the American Red Cross), both for adult readers and for juveniles. |
