I'm looking for something that is not KJV and is the whole bible not just New Testament. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Stephanie

There's always the New International Version (NIV).

There are several translations (english versions of the bible) besides the KJV

NIV , New International Version

Modern King James Version

New living translation.

Gods Word

etc, plus many features and price ranges

The most common can be found at Walmart, K Mart and other major department stores.

Most any Christian book store can and will advise you as to which one best suits your needs

Many churches have available free bibles ,however their translation preferance and theolgy often go along with it

Then there is E-sword (The bible with an electrinic edge.)  search it on the enternet ,go into the site, down load the free bible program with KJV and add any or all of the available bible translations (most for free) . It is truely an awsome program with features found only in bible programs costing hundreds of dollars. The last time i checked there were ten or so english translations and other languages as well. Plus comentaries ,maps, devotionals.

Blessings Cliff

Thanks everyone for all of your great suggestions. The websites will be great. I use blueletterbible.com alot.

I have my KJV a Message, NKJV, and Amplified. I guess I'll look for a NIV. I don't think I've read anything out of it.

Thanks!

The Holman Christian Standard Bible is a modern version that is also cheap. It comes in a variety of covers, the hard cover can be found on the internet easily.

Stephanie, I really love my new Bible. It's the New Inductive Study Bible from Precept Ministries.  I have several Bibles but this is the best by far. I've learned to understand scripture so much clearer. It teaches you how to mark your bible to help with things like locating key words and phases, looking for lists, watching for contrasts and comparisons, expressions of time, identify terms of conclusion, noting your observations,,,,chapter theams...just to name a few. There are pages and space fr you to write rightin the bible.
