I need a good reliable digital postal scale. I had one I had purchased from the USPS and it died. When I spoke to them about it, they said it was a problem and they no longer sold that one anymore. Great. I got a dud and I'm out of luck. Can anyone suggest a good scale or should I just go for it and hope for the best.

I got an Ultraship 35 lb. digital with removable face, tube holder and envelope holder from eBay seller in-focus-electronics, for $32.89 and free shipping & have been satisfied with it.  Here is a link:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRASHIP-35-DIGITAL-SHIPPING-SCALE-POSTAL-POSTAGE-d-AC-/230470007060?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35a9153914

There are a ton of sellers of these on eBay and Amazon, and if you go through Amazon using the link from this site, then PBS gets a little fee from Amazon.

I got one at Walmart  for about$20

It is exactly like the one that is available in the kiosk, only it weighs less- I believe mine goes to 5# and the one in the kiosk goes to 10#. Other then that, they are the same.

I bought mine from the kiosk here.  I see it's going for $25 now -- and it looks like it has more features.

I just got it from Amazon for $25.99. I haven't had it long enough to tell you if it will be durable, but it is dead on accurate and feels like it's a quality item--not light and flimsy like so many cheaper scales are. It came with both a battery and an AC adapter and it has a lifetime warranty, too.

I also bought one at Walmart when PBS postage was first offered.  Mine is the Royal, ds3 model, with 3 pound maximum capacity.

It works just great for me.  Paid around $20.
