This fall I'm moving to Saudi Arabia to teach 5th grade! I'm looking for travel guides and/or travel/expat memoirs for SA as well as the Middle East in general. I'd love to get a deal, but realize this isn't always possible. Please let me know if you have anything that is relevant. Thanks! Amanda

Dale Walker's Fool's Paradise is from 1988 but perhaps still worth reading. He taught English to adults. I've heard good things about Behind the Veil: An Australian Nurse in SA by Lydia Laube, but I've never had a chance to read it.

Um, I lived there in the middle 1980s. I urge you to take as many books as you can. Box up even more books and have somebody ship them to you when you give the word, which you may give sooner than you think possible.

Thanks! I already have Behind the Veil on my wish list, and I'll look into Fool's Paradise.
