Okay, here it goes... Back in the early 90's I fell in love with a romance novel, but I cannot remember the title or the author. It went something like this.. She was an accountant who loved to go to antique shops and estate sales on weekends. She "purchaed" a bachlor for a charity-auction thingy and they spent their date sailing. He had a cold and was loaded up on cold medicine, mixed with the free champagne and he was a bit out of it when the auction was closed. Her boss wanted her to go to the auction-thingy because he was nervous about being bid on. He was bid on by a woman and developed a nice relationship with her (I vaguely remember something about an aquarium he purchased for her.) It was a modern day story, not historica. I am almost positive it was published by Avon, but I am not sure. I know it wasn't Harlequin or Silhouette. It had a blue front cover of her on a sail boat, wearing a black and white striped top. If anyone is familiar with this book, or better yet HAS this book on their bookshelf, PLEASE let me know. I would love to read this book again. Also, if anyone has an idea about who may have published this novel, I would be grateful for any suggestions. Diana C. Last Edited on: 8/26/08 12:24 AM ET - Total times edited: 5 |

Purchasing him sounds familiar, but I can't remember what the name of the book was. I've read BUNCHES of Zebra, Harlequin, and Silhouette romance books. Did you ever read Zebra Pirate Romances? I read one once upon a time that was really good where her dad was a captain and she wound up with a guy who her dad had kidnapped. Anyway, that book was a really good one...and I'm rambling! LOL! I wish you luck though finding your book! I know what it's like to go searching for a book so I wish you the best! :) |
