Hello,

I read a book at the library in 1955, don't know the name or author, but I have remembered this book all these years, and would dearly love to read it again and own it.

The book is about a girl that lives in one of the coastal eastern states, Maine etc.  she has a passion about sailing and owning a small sail boat.  There is a boy who is her friend in the beginning, but at the end of the book he developes a crush on the girl and kisses her in a row boat on one of the lakes that they row on.  Sounds like a lot of books written for teens, but that is all I have.

Would appreciate any ideas.  Thanks

In reference to my above inquiry, I have been searching the web for a possible lead as to what the title of this book may be.

Marjorie of Monhegan  came up on a couple of  Search Engines, author Sidney Baldwin.  The sites I  have visited did not have an indepth description of what the book is about, and to purchase the book, well the cheapest book is $40.00.   I will spend $40.00 if necessary, but would like to know  more about this book.

Has anyone read this book or knows about this book.  Our local library does not have a copy.  The book was printed again in 1973 in paperback, but is not available, at the library.

Thank you for your help ahead of time.

Bonnie

Well according to Bookfinder the book is about a city girl who spends a year on Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine. It looks like it was a fairly short book (112 pages).Have you tried www.loganberrybooks.com? They specialize in children's and YA lit.

The prices listed are incredible! I wonder why this particular book is so pricey? It is certainly a lot to spend if you aren't sure!

Yes, that is an incredible price to ask for this book, and since I started searching Amazon.com for the book the price has gone up $20.00.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, and no I have not visited the site you suggested, but  I will today.

Thanks so much,

Bonnie
